About Myles Brand

Myles David Brand (May 17, 1942 â€" September 16, 2009) was the president of the United States' National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and prior to that served as the 16th president of Indiana University. Brand earned his Bachelor of Science degree in philosophy from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1964, and his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Rochester in 1967. Prior to serving at Indiana University, Brand was president at the University of Oregon from 1989 to 1994.
